Texas Gang Raids Yield 121 Arrests
Tuesday, July 24, 2007
DALLAS — Federal agents and local police have rounded up more
than 100 members of street gangs in raids in North Texas cities, immigration
officials announced Monday.
More than half of the 121 suspects were arrested
on criminal charges, said ICE spokesman Carl Rusnok. The others were taken into
custody on administrative, or immigration, violations.
Some gang members who
were in the country illegally have been deported or are being processed for
deportation. Others are being prosecuted for re-entering the United States after
deportation, said ICE agent John Chakwin Jr.
Those arrested during the
seven-day operation were members of 27 gangs, including the Asian Boyz, Latin
Kings, Mexican Mafia and MS-13, officials said. They included 45 U.S. citizens
with pending charges.
"Working in close partnership with federal and local
law enforcement agencies, we removed from our communities many fugitive
criminals and violent street gang members," Chakwin said.
Arrests were made
in Arlington, Irving, Fort Worth, Dallas, Gainesville and Wichita Falls with the
help of police in each city. Also participating were other federal and state
agencies, as well as the police in Farmers Branch, a Dallas suburb that has
drawn attention for passing a law prohibiting apartment rentals to illegal
immigrants.
The arrests came as part of Operation Community Shield, a
national initiative targeting gangs that was launched more than two years ago
after federal officials identified the MS-13 gang, or Mara Salvatrucha, as one
of the nation's largest and most violent.

So, what is going on here? Lets take a look at what was said, and what it really means. If you have read any of my prior posts, you will recognize many of the gang names here. So, that isn't anything new. Here is something I have stressed, but have a credible source to prove my points made earlier.
Many of these illegal immigrants are actually criminal immigrants. Criminal immigrants are those who come here illegally and do so for the only purpose of committing crimes. These are some of our biggest risks to our national security. Their crimes are carried out on our streets, in our neighborhoods, our schools, and even in our prisons. They have no care for anyone in our country, and as explained in government documents released, they would smuggle, and possible support, other terrorist groups into our country.
There was a time when being deported was a harsh penalty. Now, it isn't unusual to find these criminals returning to our country after having been deported multiple times before. Why should they worry? Our own Border Patrol is so under-funded, ill equipped, and under-manned that they cannot present a formidable defensive line along our border. And even if all of the aforementioned changed, our policies limit them so much that they can barely do their jobs. None of this is any of our Border Patrol Agents faults. The finger here can be pointed directly to Washington D.C. where our elected officials are fighting over amnesty programs.
The issue here can be related to a hockey game. The government is basically not letting the defense move in addition to keeping the goalie on the bench. If the Americans practised these policies on D-Day, all of our men would have been sent to the beaches with flowers in place of rifles.
